(U) The Strategic Analysis Australia think tank recently posted an article written by its director Michael Shoebridge entitled ‘Hate-filled slogans & the new normal of anger – both make the step to violence easier’1, in which he explored how recent events around Australia have seen a lack of insight into the broader threat picture from Australian governmental leadership.

(U) In the article, he noted the recent stabbing attacks (explored in Intelligence Report 001/2024), and a recent stabbing attack in Perth, Western Australia with “hallmarks of a terrorism related incident” both which involved teenage boys.2
