Over the recent weekend of 03 - 04 August 2025, major pro-Palestinian demonstrations occurred in Melbourne CBD and across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, with estimates of up to 100,000 protestors occupying the only thoroughfare in and out of the Sydney CBD.

The numbers were so high that NSW police issued genuine concerns about crowd-crushing occurring along the Bridge, due to the funnelling design of the monument, and the crowd density.

At the Melbourne demonstrations, masked protestors were observed, filmed and uploaded burning the Australian National Flag not once, but twice for performative signalling.
