There has been a marked escalation in the ongoing social discourse within Australia surrounding pro-Palestinian supporters, anti-Semitism, and the potential for terror attacks.

Intelligence Digest previously assessed how the November 2024 firebombing of a synagogue in Melbourne how that attack - which was eventually designated a terror attack - was unlikely to be a final escalation in the tactics used by various political and issue motivated groups.

On January 19, a caravan was discovered near Dural in New South Wales, approximately 36km north west of Sydney. Inside was found Powergel explosives along with a list identifying the addresses of Jewish people/synagogues and a note reading “f—- the Jews”.
